Worship at St. John's

The worship of God is at the very heart of our life together. We experience the mystery of God, hear and wrestle with God's word, share Christ's presence in the sacrament, feel God's love in the community, and leave strengthened to live and serve in the world.

If you’re looking for a spiritual home, exploring your faith, searching for ways to serve your community or seeking to make a difference, St. John’s Episcopal Church can answer those longings. We’re here to serve your spiritual needs, and help you deepen your relationship with God, those you love and yourself.

Which Service is Best for Me or My Family?

Youth, children and adults – generation to generation – can experience God in worship. Worship touches our hearts, lifts our spirits, challenges our minds and comforts our souls so that we are connected to one another and to God’s world in new ways.  The people of St. John's attend services at serveral times. See the Services Schedule for days and times. There is a newcomer table with more information, someone is there after the 10AM services.

The St John's Healing Service
- Last Saturday of Each Month at 5:00 pm

Everyone has times of need. Everyone has concerns for the world around us or for the well-being of a loved one. Is there anything in your life you’d like to have special prayer for? Maybe a health issue for you, a family member, friend or neighbor. Maybe you have troubles of some kind, maybe it's a relationship, or a world issue like the Haitian crisis?

For over five years, St. John’s has offered a Healing Service once a month. After communion concludes, this service gives you the opportunity to come up to the altar, quietly and privately tell Father McGinn your prayer request. He will quietly say a prayer, just for you, and bless you with holy oil on your forehead. When the prayer requests are complete, the service is concluded. Many people have said the prayer has truly been special, and has helped them.

All Services

We invite everyone in worship at these services to come to our Lord’s table to receive communion or a blessing. The bread is received with an open hand; the wine by guiding the chalice to your lips or by dipping the wafer into the cup. If you do not wish to receive communion, please cross your arms over your chest to receive a blessing instead.

We look forward to seeing you in church, and in the education, fellowship and outreach opportunities that make St. John’s a lively, caring community.
